Mumbai-based graphic designer Kamlesh Kamtekar, who previously worked as an assistant creative manager with 14 years of experience, shared his challenging journey of unemployment on LinkedIn. After losing his job due to cost-cutting, he faced repeated rejections despite his extensive experience, leading to a bold decision to shift careers and become an autorickshaw driver.

Kamtekar detailed his struggles in his post, sharing how he had tirelessly sent out resumes and reached out to friends for referrals, only to face constant rejection. “It’s been almost five months since I lost my job. Despite my efforts, I haven’t been successful in finding a new opportunity,” he wrote. He explained that many companies couldn’t meet his salary expectations, which ultimately inspired him to explore self-employment.

In a courageous move, Kamtekar decided to leave his graphic design career behind. “After receiving feedback about salary expectations, I thought, why not start my own business and earn money instead of working for someone else? So I decided to sacrifice my design skills and drive an autorickshaw,” he said, asking for blessings for his new venture.

His story resonated widely on social media, garnering over 3,500 likes and 500 comments on LinkedIn. Support poured in, with users praising his determination and bravery. One comment read, “It takes real courage to step out of your comfort zone. You’ve shown everyone what perseverance looks like.” Another user remarked, “Fortune favors the brave. Your story is truly inspiring.”

Kamtekar’s journey is a testament to resilience and adaptability, showcasing the ability to embrace change and find new beginnings even in the face of adversity.
